چکیده

ABSTRACT: The objective of this work was to estimate the rainfall erosivity in 101 municipalities Brazilian Cerrado biome. First, a filling missing data carried out for 81 rain gauge stations, with 20-year historical series, states Mato Grosso (MT), do Sul (MS), Minas Gerais (MG), and Goiás (GO). corrected were subjected 16 regionally calibrated equations, which enabled determination erosivity. results indicated that northeastern MS present highest monthly indexes (El30m), reaching 2,796.5 MJ mm ha-1 h-1 year-1 January, whereas lowest index same month 733.0 eastern MT. annual erosivity, or R factor, varied between 3,713.1 12,345.6 year-1, values MT those MS. Although studied are within biome, spatial distribution makes them regional effects due different climatic factors, resulting volumes intensities, is reflected factor. Keywords: stations; fator; fill data; precipitation.

Rainfall erosivity in Europe.

Rainfall is one the main drivers of soil erosion. The erosive force of rainfall is expressed as rainfall erosivity. Rainfall erosivity considers the rainfall amount and intensity, and is most commonly expressed as the R-factor in the USLE model and its revised version, RUSLE. At national and continental levels, the scarce availability of data obliges soil erosion modellers to estimate this fact...

Anthropization on the Cerrado biome in the Brazilian Uruçuí-Una Ecological Station estimated from orbital images.

In this study we analysed the dynamics of deforestation and burnings during the dry seasons from 2003 to 2008 in the Uruçuí-Una Ecological Station (UUES) and its buffer zone, located in the Cerrado biome of the southwest of Piauí, a Brazil's State, based on images from the orbital sensors CCD/CBERS-2 and TM/Landsat-5. Two dates from each of the years were interpreted and analysed: one in the mi...

Contribution to the discussions on the origin of the cerrado biome: Brazilian savanna.

Theories that attempt to explain the origin of the cerrado biome are mostly based on the isolated action of three major factors: climate, fire and soil. Another factor that has been mentioned is that of human interference. We hypothesise that the evolutionary origin of this biome resulted from the complex interaction of climate, fire and soil, with climate being the triggering agent of this ass...

Use of Orbital LIDAR in the Brazilian Cerrado Biome: Potential Applications and Data Availability

This paper focuses on the Ice, Cloud and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat) Geoscience Laser Altimeter System (GLAS) data availability over the 2 million km Cerrado, the Brazilian central savanna biome and one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots. Overall, about 2.5 million laser shots, distributed along the seven years of ICESat operation (2003–2009) and comprising three major seasonal domains,...

Moisturizing effect of a cosmetic formulation containing pequi oil (Caryocar brasiliense) from the Brazilian cerrado biome

Caryocar brasiliense, popularly known in Brazil as “pequi”, is a species widely distributed in the Brazilian Cerrado. The seeds are surrounded by a woody endocarp coated with a yellow fleshy mesocarp rich in oil and vitamin A, whose oil has a useful role in the treatment of skin aging and protection of human skin against UV-induced damage and skin hydration. The aim of this study was to evaluat...
